Performed and produced by Invisible's J. Wilder, with additional programming by J. Vegas, "Nine Inch Elvis" gets points simply for its amusing originality. The refreshing absurdity of combining the King of Rock and Roll with the Poster Boy for Catharsis-Through-Industrial-Rage makes up for some of the tracks sounding a bit pedestrian. "All Shook Up," for instance is nothing spectacular musically and the lyrics are spoken in a lackluster monotone. "Hound Dog," on the other hand, is a brilliant as it parodies and celebrates the best of early NIN. The female backing vocal by Cellaphania and the vitriolic insistence of all the elements on the chorus, give this song back some of its intended fervor. Another justice done here is "Viva Las Vegas." All the energy, as well as the kitsch, of the original remains intact, while the song itself is made over more completely than a Caesar's showgirl.
