Ziggy Pop: APC’s Iha ducks the spotlight - You guys seem like the most low-key band around. It’s almost as if you want to avoid attention and publicity. - Well, Maynard obviously has Tool. And while I can’t speak on his behalf, I think Tool is like this generation’s Led Zeppelin. They don’t have to put their band name on their albums. They don’t have to do press. They just put out music and people love it. As for me, I do what’s required to promote tours and records. But I’m the guitar player. Opening with Stinkfist, a song that many consider to be a Tool-staple & closing with the mammoth Third Eye, also considered to be a staple, this album is as relevant today as it was in the mid-1990's. Many Tool fans consider this album to the creative-pinnacle or the essential Tool-release for even the most haphazard of music fanatics. Each song denotes a certain comment on not only the macro-scale, society at large, but also on the micro-scale, an individual's perception of their place in whatever reality they inhabit. Aenima is not an album that is absorbed after one single listen - this is an album that allows even the most rabid fan to hear something new with virtually ever listen. With the addition of Justin Chancellor on bass, who replaced Paul D'Amour, & thought-provoking subject matter, the album takes the listener on a journey - to what or where, that is not for me to say. Each song may mean something unique to you, me & the next person. As for the vinyl release, there were only approximately 15,000 copies released in 1996 with no reprints. Ziggy Pop: a chat with Billy Howerdel after a recent A Perfect Circle show in Texas, and was kind enough to ask him a little bit about the future for APC Billy’s responses were: • By & Down is the only new APC track for now, and they’re looking at a release in Fall/Winter. Digital download was suggested as the format of the release. • The recordings for the 2010 show came out well. Billy was quiet as far as a DVD goes, but suggested that some of the live tracks would be available with By & Down.
