Ziggy Pop: A Perfect Circle playing Lollapalooza A Perfect Circle were today announced as part of the Lollapalooza lineup for 2011. A Perfect Circle seem to be one of the second tier acts, and other bands joining them on the three day festival include Foo Fighters, Ween, Muse, Deftones, Death From Above 1979 and The Cars. Overall it seems like a quite reasonable lineup, and much lighter on shitty metal than other festivals they’re playing.

Ziggy Pop: Red Bacteria Vacuum announced as APC support Japanese all girl punk band Red Bacteria Vacuum have been announced as the support act for A Perfect Circle’s 2011 US Tour.

This festival, which spans a couple of weeks is bringing a pretty amazing lineup of acts including Soundgarden, Huey Lewis & the News, Joe Satriani and Shpongle. Ziggy Pop: M.T. vOID, JUSTIN'S project with Peter MOHAMED, have released a track from "NOTHING'S MATTER." Not sure what Adam's up too (besides working on new Tool songs), but recently DANNY got together for a drumming/recording session with NEIL PEART (RUSH) and STEWART COPELAND (THE POLICE). LES CLAYPOOL was also involved, but I'm not sure as to what capacity. Whether or not these guys will get together again, or anything will come from the initial 'session', I really don't know. Danny has also been working in his spare time with cEVIN of SKINNY PUPPY (programming Danny's large collection of analogue synthesizers), and there are plans for my neighbor Evil Joe Barresi to possibly record a VOLTO! CD.

Ziggy Pop: Howerdel discusses new A Perfect Circle material In a recent interview with Gotham Radio, Billy Howerdel talks about A Perfect Circle, new songs, the upcoming tour and Ashes Divide. Here’s a snippet: So will we hear new APC music on the tour? “We are gonna hear at least a song, I would say,” Billy tells me. “One of them is very, very close to being done. And from there, things could come together once we get on the road and start hashing through some of the other ideas and they could quickly become a song and find their way onto the live stage.” Does that mean a new album is in the works? “In the works, but not for this summer. I think the idea was to try and get the juices flowing a bit and get back into A-B-C mode a bit and go from there,” he says. “See what happens in the new year. We have intentions of recording new material.” http://freegotham.com/2011/05/09/gotham-interview-with-billy-howerdel/
