Переработка этого рок-боевика с альбома «Led Zeppelin III» (1970) будет использована в трейлере к фильму «The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo» режиссера Дэвида Финча. Резнор уже сотрудничал с Дэвидом Финчем ранее: рокер написал саундтрек для предыдущей работы режиссера – драмы «The Social Network», за который был удостоен «Золотого Глобуса» и «Оскара». После этого музыкант был привлечен к созданию музыкального оформления и для «The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo». Reznor has already adapted the album into an alternate reality game. Uhls, repped by CAA, penned the screenplay for Fight Club and Jumper. Speaking through Twitter, Reznor urged fans not to purchase the release, labeling it “a record label bullshit move repackaging the old version…”. A remastered version of the outing that surfaced late last year was officially sanctioned by Reznor.

Ziggy Pop: Trent Reznor has said that Nine Inch Nails may release a new full-length album in 2012 The musician, who has just completed work on the soundtrack for David Fincher's The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo film, has confirmed that he will resume work under the moniker of Nine Inch Nails in earnest next year. He last released a full album under the name Nine Inch Nails in 2008 with 'The Slip'. Speaking to The Sun, Reznor said that his focus was now very much on Nine Inch Nails, saying: "Nine Inch Nails is not dead by any means, but all the touring and record writing has been thrown off for a little bit. I highly expect that to be the focus of 2012 in terms of writing and we may see a full-length release even". Reznor also revealed that he took inspiration from David Bowie when he decided to temporarily abandon Nine Inch Nails in favour of new project How To Detroy Angels and work on the soundtracks of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo and the Oscar winning The Social Network. He said of this: "It started to feel like if I didn't force myself into a change I would regret it. It's a fear of not wanting to try things because you're in a comfort zone. I always think about my hero David Bowie and his fearlessness to destroy something that isn't ready to break yet and start something new". He continued: "He'd throw out an identity, confuse his audience and it's a great risk career-wise. But he had the balls and didn't milk it out to the last drop". Ziggy Pop: Trent Reznor’s How to Destroy Angels Set to Release Debut Album Early 2012 How to Destroy Angels, the project featuring Nine Inch Nails frontman Trent Reznor, his wife Mariqueen Maandig, and frequent collaborator Atticus Ross, will release their debut album early next year, according to Reznor. The record follows on from a six-track EP that the band released last year. Reznor told Rolling Stone that How to Destroy Angels “became much more rhythmic and not any happier, but it really started to take on its own identity. We were influenced by early [post-punk group] Cabaret Voltaire–it’s very deconstructed rhythmically and more textural.” The album will reportedly be released on Reznor’s own Null Corporation label. Having previously won an Academy Award for their soundtrack to The Social Network, Reznor and Ross also helmed the recently-released soundtrack to The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, which received a Golden Globe nomination earlier this week.

Full performance footage of NIN on Dance Party USA unearthed Over on Echoing the Sound, TheBang posted the fruits of a $100 purchase: A first generation video recording of NIN's infamous performance on Dance Party USA, from 1988 or 1989. The only evidence of the existence of this clip, for a long time, was the sample "Let's hear it for Nine Inch Nails, woo! They're good!" on the US Head Like a Hole single. Over a decade later, a Closure DVD set surfaced on The Pirate Bay, and it contained a short clip of the performance. Now the whole thing has been uploaded to YouTube, so in a matter of hours (or days), all the usual music blogs will be posting it without all the cutesy backstory and credit that we like to bring to our posts. Ziggy Pop: New How To Destroy Angels EP Sorry for the radio silence lately… I’ve been busy! There’s a number of things to be revealed over the coming months. Some you may expect, others you may not. Patience, my friends. Today’s news is about my band How To Destroy Angels. I’m happy to announce we’ve formally partnered with Columbia Records for our next series of releases. The first of these will be available in November and it’s called An Omen EP. As you may have guessed, it’s an EP. It contains six songs, some of which are from our full-length LP which is coming early next year. We are making some videos, we are going to be performing live, and that’s all the details I have for now on those matters. Regarding our decision to sign with Columbia, we’ve really spent a long time thinking about things and it makes sense for a lot of reasons, including a chance to work with our old friend Mark Williams. There’s a much more granular and rambling answer I could give (and likely will in an interview someplace) but it really comes down to us experimenting and trying new things to see what best serves our needs. Complete independent releasing has its great points but also comes with shortcomings. We are all very excited about you checking out the new stuff. Wish I could tell you more, but you know how this works… it would take all the fun out of it!

The gut-rot of suppressed violence (whether physical or emotional) lingers in both works, but this unpredictability doesn’t carry over to how they were made. Reznor, like Scorsese, used his medium as a haven from the messiness of the outside world, and he was able to exert an uncommon amount of control over his tools. With the possible exception of Billy Corgan, no other ’90s rocker was nearly as skilled at the art of making records as Reznor. Even Corgan would’ve been outmatched trying to replicate the complexities of The Fragile, with its prog-rock overtures and classical-music pretensions. Ziggy Pop: по поводу миксов: нашлось в закромах у чувака, который с ними работал непосредственно же. Он писал, что некоторые из эти миксов сам Трент не слышал даже. Danny Hyde не просто работал с Coil, а был одним из участников группы. Все миксы что есть на NIN от Coil сделаны при его непосредственном участии. Кристоферсон конечно же ответил что они выпустили все что было сделано, ведь это же очевидно что то, что всплыло сейчас просто отбраковка от более удачных версии на каждый из треков NIN. Можно сказать что это рабочие версии. На все эти треки уже были выпущены замечательные ремиксы, а это просто хранилось в закромах родины. Но вот только сейчас Danny Hyde решил пустить это в народ, а в 1995 году в этом не было смысла. В любом случае миксы неплохие, слушаем и радуемся

The frontman says that the album will come out in 2014, following a greatest hits collection that will also contain 2 new songs. Reznor also says he’s been working with Interscope and Beats By Dre on a new music-streaming service tentatively called Daisy. It’s set to launch in early 2013, holds 16 million licensed pieces of music, and uses mathematics to offer “intelligent curation” to the listener. Available on the industrial rock group's Tumblr, the doc was initially only available on the 1997 Closure VHS. As Reznor notes, the film contains some NSFW content, and also features appearances from David Bowie and Marilyn Manson. Along with the "Self Destruct" tour film, Reznor also posted another NIN rarity: an acoustic performance of "The Becoming" (from 1994's The Downward Spiral) recorded in 2002 at Nothing Studios in New Orleans and featuring Reznor, Danny Lohner and Jerome Dillon. This version appeared on the deconstructed Still disc of the out-of-print companion compilation And All That Could Have Been, and Reznor also posted two more videos from the Still series, "Something I Can Never Have" and "Gone, Still." The nuggets come as Reznor prepares to revive Nine Inch Nails with an almost entirely new lineup that includes former Jane's Addiction bassist Eric Avery, King Crimson guitarist Adrian Belew, keyboardists Alessandro Cortini and Josh Eustis and drummer Ilan Rubin. Trent Reznor's revived incarnation of Nine Inch Nails have signed to Columbia Records and will release a new album later this year. Reznor's other project, How to Destroy Angels, is also signed to Columbia. In a press release, Reznor said, "I've been less than honest about what I've really been up to lately. For the last year I've been secretly working non-stop with Atticus Ross and Alan Moulder on a new, full-length Nine Inch Nails record, which I am happy to say is finished and frankly fucking great. This is the real impetus and motivation behind the decision to assemble a new band and tour again. My forays into film, HTDA and other projects really stimulated me creatively and I decided to focus that energy on taking Nine Inch Nails to a new place. Here we go!” The revived band is heading out on tour starting this summer. As reported, the touring NIN lineup will include Reznor, Adrian Belew of King Crimson, and Josh Eustis of Telefon Tel Aviv, as well as previous NIN collaborators Robin Finck, Alessandro Cortini, and Ilan Rubin. Ziggy Pop: Nine Inch Nails To Debut New Single ‘Came Back Haunted’ June 6 It’s confirmed: Nine Inch Nails will release a new single this Thursday (June 6) to radio at 11:30 a.m. PDT. The new song, titled “Came Back Haunted,” “harkens back to early Nine Inch Nails,” says Lisa Worden, Music Director for Los Angeles alternative station KROQ. “I think it’s in line with the first two albums,” Worden continues. “It’s got a great beat, it’s not the experimental material Trent’s done in the last five years.” Worden indicated the song didn’t strike her as angry. Rather the beat is what made an impression. “I wouldn’t say that it’s dance-y, but it does have a great beat, a groove. Trent [Reznor] really brought it with this song.
