Ziggy Pop: Новый альбом Depeche Mode будет называться Delta Machine и выйдет 26-го марта. Фотографии для пластинки сделал Антон Корбайн, а на делюкс издании будет 4 дополнительных трека. Первое видео выйдет в следующую пятницу (1-го февраля). Продюсером записи стал Бен Хиллер, который работал над пластинками Playing the Angel, Sound of the Universe. Музыканты сравнивают новое звучание с альбомами Violator и Songs of Faith and Devotion.
Ziggy Pop: Depeche Mode have detailed their previously announced new album, the follow up to 2009's Sounds of the Universe Delta Machine is out on March 26 via Columbia. The first single from the record, "Heaven", will debut via video on VEVO on February 1. Delta Machine will be released as a standard edition as well as a deluxe edition that includes a bonus disc with four extra tracks as well as a 28-page book featuring photos by Anton Corbijn. "Heaven" will be released on disc with remixes from Matthew Dear (as Matthew Dear vs. Audion), Blawan, Owlle, and Steps to Heaven. Delta Machine was produced by Ben Hillier and mixed by Flood. In a press release, Martin Gore said, "Writing this album was incredibly daunting as I wanted the sound of this collection to be very modern. I want people to feel good about listening to this record, to get some kind of peace. It's just got something magical about it." Dave Gahan said, "With this release we've completely shifted our idea of how to create an album. When we hit a wall where we realize the album is beginning to sound too normal, we'll mess it up and really give it that organic Depeche Mode Sound. Delta Machine is no different, and I can’t wait for all of our fans to hear it." Previously, Gore said, "The music has a similar vibe to [1990's] Violator and [1993's] Songs of Faith and Devotion and I think the songs on the album are among some of the very best we've done," while Gahan said it's "not a blues record, but it definitely has a soulful vibe." Depeche Mode will hit the road in Europe this spring, with North American dates to be announced. Dates below. Ziggy Pop: Тринадцатый альбом Depeche Mode "Delta Machine" Мартин Гор (Martin Gore) сказал о новом релизе буквально следующее: "Написание этого альбома было невероятно пугающим, так как я хотел, чтобы его звучание было очень современным. Ziggy Pop: “We started throwing around ideas and waited until the songs started taking some kind of form before we attempted to give the album a name. This time, the form they were taking was strongly drawing on a blues influence, that Delta blues thing, sort of crawling and a bit sleazy, a bit dirty,” explains Gahan. “I don’t want to claim we’re making a blues album,” counters Gore. “It’s our version of the blues. We’ve been working in our style of blues for quite a long time now. If you go back to Violator there’s quite a lot of songs on there that are very bluesy, and Songs of Faith and Devotion and Ultra as well. I think we’re just embracing that now and making it more obvious in the title. “As for the name, I like the idea of nature with machines. The organic with inorganic,” says Gore. But then he was Depeche’s first synth player, and tends to get sentimental about technology. “The blues influences are definitely there,” says Gahan. "What connects all the songs is they’re crying out for help. That’s part of the blues as well. It’s kind of whining about your woes but somehow through the music you are redeemed." “The machine part of Delta Machine is what we do, how we create this, how we use machines,” continues Gahan. “We try and give the elements of songs and songwriting that come from the blues and mess it up. Led Zeppelin took the blues and turned it up, the Stones just made it cooler, and I think that we did our best to fuck it right up and take it into a difficult direction."

Летние гастроли Depeche Mode в поддержку нового альбома «Delta Machine» имеют ошеломительный успех: билеты на 38 концертов тура были полностью раскуплены за несколько месяцев до шоу. Если грядущее выступление состоится на открытом воздухе, то в следующем году музыканты представят новую версию шоу на закрытой площадке. Именно он работал над двумя последними альбомами Depeche Mode: «Playing the Angel» и «Sounds of the Universe». Критики оценили пластинку очень высоко, назвав ее лучшей после «Violator» (1990 г.). Журнал Billboard поставил «Delta Machine» 70 из 100 баллов, а Rolling Stone - три с половиной из пяти звезд.
Desire: В Питере было ужасно жарко! По сравнению с концертом на Локомотиве - сущий ад! К Депешам претензий нет - ребята держались молодцами, но вот пекло подкосило публику, трибуны почти все сидели. Я и сам выбежал из танцпартера на Home, бутылка воды была выпита, наверное, прежде, чем бармен до конца её открыл.
