After the red carpet premiere tomorrow, there will be four screenings of the film, which are listed on the festival website. General admission or rush tickets (pun intended?) are still available. And then, on June 26th, the film will make its television debut on VH1 and VH1 Classic.

Ziggy Pop: Billy Corgan tweets off at Courtney Love 2:33 pm // Monday, April 26, 2010 After claiming last night that Courtney Love did not “get the year right” when she told the NME about a past “threesome,” Billy Corgan this morning aimed a fresh volley of seven tweets (containing six numbered “Thoughts”) toward the Hole frontwoman. Subjects addressed in the 140-character chunks include Love’s songwriting or lack thereof, her Facebook apology to Corgan in March, and her loss of custody over daughter Frances Bean Cobain last December. UPDATE: Smashing Pumpkins producer Kerry Brown threatens the “Doll Parts” singer. http://twitter.com/studiodog/status/12900962068 http://twitter.com/Billy/status/12847338516 ###################################################

Ziggy Pop: ################################################### Ultimate-Guitar.Com posts lengthy Corgan interview 3:13 pm // Monday, April 26, 2010 Steven Rosen of the long-running website Ultimate-Guitar.Com has conducted an excellent, 3,000-word interview with Smashing Pumpkins chief Billy Corgan. The primary topic is the Pumpkins’ in-progress album Teargarden by Kaleidyscope, but Rosen gets Corgan to talk about bandmates Mark Tulin and Mike Byrne, guitarists and guitar playing, psychedelic music, past albums, business and more and more. Following are but a pair of brief excerpts, first on Corgan’s efforts to write lyrics and music: [Steven Rosen:] Are there moments when you’ve created a wonderful piece of music and you can’t find a lyric to match that level? [Billy Corgan:] Oh yes, many times. It is really frustrating. I find tapes all the time where I think, “How could I have not used that riff or chord change?” [Rosen:] And vice-versa? [Corgan:] There are always more riffs than words. Words at some point are pretty limiting, especially words that must be sung, but music has an infinity in it that never gets old. Then, on the future of Teargarden by Kaleidyscope: [Rosen:] Do you have any sense of how the last batch of songs might sound? [Corgan:] If you mean by the last, the last of the 44 I hope to finish, I would hope that by then I would have created a whole new exciting Smashing Pumpkins sound that is compatible with the old sound but is wholly different. I am definitely trying. [Rosen:] Can you see musically that far down the line? [Corgan:] I can already see where there will be an acoustic type period, and a very experimental period. Right now the stuff is just more rich but easily understood. I’d like to surprise myself by working with different approaches if I can find the time. [Rosen:] Without being disrespectful, how do you gauge the reaction to your music when the songs are offered for free? [Corgan:] You can’t. The numbers aren’t real. The real test will be four or five years from now when the work is fully assembled and released. ===================== текст полностью: http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/interviews/interviews/smashing_pumpkins_there_are_always_more_riffs_than_words.html

Ziggy Pop: Billy Corgan doles out his top 10 heavy metal albums to MusicRadar.com Hint: Click on each album cover to see Corgan’s comments. http://www.musicradar.com/news/guitars/billy-corgans-10-greatest-heavy-metal-albums-of-all-time-248694 10 любимых хэви-метал альбомов Лысого.

Ziggy Pop: 125 Best Albums of the Past 25 Years SPIN ranks Slanted and Enchanted, New Day Rising, Is This It, Loveless, The Bends, Dookie, The Battle of Los Angeles, Live Through This, and Elephant ahead of Siamese Dream on best-albums-since-1985 list. http://www.spin.com/spin25/125-best-albums-past-25-years#page=7 известный америкэн журнал SPIN и его 125 лучших альбомов последних 25 лет

Ziggy Pop: на самом деле лажа, а не хит-парад. ни одного альбома Underworld, зато целых 3 пластинки Outkast. бред. ну да ладно, всё равно это субъективно всё с точки зрения редакции журнала. вот новость вам: The Smashing Pumpkins get back to studio work http://twitter.com/studiodog/status/13093244679

Ziggy Pop: всплыло название лэйбла Коргана и Керри Брауна: Germs drummer and Fancy Space People nonkeyboardist Don Bolles, in an interview with music blog Victim of Time, makes a wee bit of news: [Victim of Time]: What’s the label called, have [Kerry Brown and Billy Corgan] named it yet? [Don Bolles]: Startone. [Star-tone.] It also spells “start one.” I don’t know how they’re breaking up the words. [Fancy Space People will] be the first release, and then The Germs are doing a single. We’re doing a couple of Darby Crash Band era songs “Beyond Hurt/Beyond Help,” which is a power ballad, oddly enough! (Chuck laughs) The other one is called “Out Of Time.” That’s a pretty ass-kickin’ song. It basically sounds a lot like “Lion’s Share.” VoT: That’s quite a newsflash. Are you guys going on to do new material, or are you sticking with old stuff? Don: Germs? Well, it’s all Darby Crash lyrics, although I’m writing a lot of lyrics now. I write a lot of the Fancy Space People stuff. Nora and I write everything in that, pretty much. Well, we channel it, not write it!
