Ziggy Pop: Critics shut ‘Teargarden’ songs out of 2010 Pazz & Jop singles poll None of the 7 songs released last year by the Smashing Pumpkins was mentioned by any of the over 700 music critics who participated in the annual Village Voice Pazz & Jop singles poll. Some 2,086 songs received at least one mention, among them Cee Lo Green’s smash “Fuck You!” (tops with 187 mentions) and a United Parcel Service jingle. The Pumpkins have received a grand total of two mentions over the four “Pazz & Jop” singles polls conducted since the band reformed in 2007, neither coming in the last 3 years.

Ziggy Pop: Mark Tulin, bassist who worked with Pumpkins, dies in California Mark Tulin, the bassist best known for his work with the Electric Prunes and who played recently in the Smashing Pumpkins, died suddenly yesterday in Avalon, California, at age 62. Tulin was assisting with the annual Avalon Harbor Underwater Cleanup on behalf on the University of Southern California Catalina Hyperbaric Chamber, where he was a supervisor, when he collapsed. According to Chamber program manager Karl Huggins, despite “immediate response by Baywatch Avalon and Avalon Fire Department medics…he could not be revived.” Here is a 2005 interview in which Tulin discusses his career with the Electric Prunes. Zero: 1 марта твиттер Билли сообщил, что новая песня выйдет приблизительно через 2-3 недели.

Zero: Corgan: “As excited as I’ve been in a long time about these songs upcoming. Only 2 releases this round, not 4. Going to have a long announcement soon (probably a long post from yours truly) about a directional change on Teargarden releases.” Ну Коргана опять понесло! Говорит типа, что в предстоящем релизе будет только 2 песни, а не 4. И типа как то видемо будет пересмотрен процесс релизов Тиргарден песен.
